njmike Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Does anyone know how I can convert a sketchup drawing to an autocad dwg file? Quote
JoeC Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I think there is a .dxf export download for sketchup (if you don't already have it). Try a google search for it. Then simply type dxfin in Autocad and select the newly created .dxf file. It should work. Quote
JoeC Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Yea, you'll need to download it. I found one available for a free trial at http://www.sycode.com/products/dxf_export_su/index.htm I've never used it nor do I recommend it. Maybe do some searches on your own to find one that suits you. Quote
tzframpton Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Does anyone know how I can convert a sketchup drawing to an autocad dwg file? File > Save As?? Or isn't there an export to DWG format? Quote
skipsophrenic Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Did a bit of searching, the version of sketchup that allows you to convert to a dwg is Sketchup Pro, i think you have to pay for that one. Info found at this thread: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=31689 Quote
architecture68-raff Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 You can download Sketchup Pro as a trial version. I think it is limited to 8 hours of trial, at least it used to be. You can use the Sketchup Pro installation to do conversions when needed. I'm not really sure if you can have Sketchup Pro installed along side a free version install -- never tried that. Maybe try to use a separate computer if possible to avoid conflicts Quote
boofredlay Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Mike, if you can't get it converted upload your skp here and I will see what I can do. That or send me a PM. Quote
