asiangirl02 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Hi I am fairly new to inventor, i have been task with the job of drawing a wedge in inventor. It is a hexagonal shape, with a 1 in lip and then is starts to slant in at 7.5 degrees. I have no idea where to start, any help would be appreciated. Thanks Quote
shift1313 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 draw the hex shape in your first sketch centered around the origin point. If you dont know how to turn on your origin point let me know. after you have drawn your sketch all you have to do is extrude it and give it your taper angle in the dialog box. What release of Inventor are you running? Quote
asiangirl02 Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 no i dont how to turn on an origin point, but if you could help me that would be great I am using inventor 11 but what about the 1in lip? Quote
shift1313 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 do you have an image or screen shot you can show me so i have a better idea what you are trying to draw. Or maybe give me some dimensions. To turn on your origin expand your Origin folder on the model tree, right click on the origin and select VISIBILITY. A check mark will be placed next to it and now your sketch plane will show a yellow dot. That is 0,0. It is good practice to work with the origin and not just randomly start drawing. Quote
