Yes, it is possible and people do them with AutoCAD.

There are better programs for this, any reason you need to use AutoCAD?

VISIO is a good alternative that can be saved as a .dwg.

You need to look into making blocks, dynamic blocks, etc. as well.

I've done process flow diagrams a few times, is that what you need?

Still similar method so...

As SLW says, you can draw a flowchart in AutoCAD using basic objects like polylines, text boxes, and leaders. When you get done, though, all you have is a collection of basic objects. There is no provision for editing the flowchart as a flowchart. That is, you can't drag a node and expect the lines connected to it to move along with it.

The functionality is there. I suppose you could create nodes as dynamic blocks with connections leading in and out, then add arrows you can drag to other nodes. That would get complicated in a hurry, since any connection could lead in or out, in any direction. You'd still have the problem of keeping the different ends connected to each other, that is, you'd have to manually reconnect the lines after you moved a node.

It can be done. I've done it. As long as you don't anticipate a lot of changes, it's a manageable project. Otherwise, look for a dedicated app, like draw.io, SmartDraw, Mural, or LucidChart.
