JLH Posted Monday at 10:22 PM Posted Monday at 10:22 PM I had to build a new PC and when I tried to transfer over my AutoCAD LT 2012 I quickly found out that Autodesk no longer supports it and there is no way to use it moving forward. Thus I am forced to now go to the subscription route. Anyway, where is the best place to buy the license? - Direct from AutoCAD its $515/year - YourCADStore has it for $399.95 (assuming that is for 12 months also) Those seem to be the only legit option (assuming YourCADStore is a legit store front and the Groupon option for $83.44 is some sort of scam). Thanks for any advice. Quote
BIGAL Posted Tuesday at 11:10 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:10 PM Have a look at Bricscad you can buy a perpetual or a yearly, has more features than Lt2026, no missing lisp functions, using lisps you will never look back at how much time savings you will get. Quote
JLH Posted Thursday at 01:57 PM Author Posted Thursday at 01:57 PM No I haven't looked at Briscad. I just do a little work on the side from time to time for someone I formally worked with. They use AutoCAD. Does it cause any issues working in DWG files and translating back and forth? Is there a learning curve between it and AutoCAD? Quote
Cad64 Posted Thursday at 02:08 PM Posted Thursday at 02:08 PM Bricscad and Autocad are virtually identical, so there's no learning curve. If you know Autocad you can use Bricscad. They have a trial version. You should download and check it out. https://www.bricsys.com/ Quote
JLH Posted Thursday at 09:15 PM Author Posted Thursday at 09:15 PM Thanks. I may give that a try. Quote
SLW210 Posted Friday at 10:41 AM Posted Friday at 10:41 AM I would only trust Autodesk or an OFFICIAL reseller to purchase Autodesk products. You might look into DraftSight® as well. There are other alternatives that are low cost as well, this list isn't up to date, but still relevant I think. Low cost CAD programs. - Useful Links - AutoCAD Forums Quote
