Same Penn Foster Oleson Subdivision Nightmare... different day

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

As if taking nearly a week to do a project I nearly completed in a day wasn't enough to not make a person melt down.  I can seem to find zero help on the internet as to how to add a bar scale to a 2d drawing.  And man I know I'm asking for the moon and the stars here but making that N symbol rotate with the drawing would be cool too.  But for right now I just need to turn this in.  I'm not looking for a handout like some other shady folks on these message boards I actually want a mastery of the subject matter.  The simple fact is: In this program, we are not TAUGHT a THING.

Please if you both a) not a Penn Foster worshiper just on here to troll on their behalf, and b) can find it in your heart to help me, I would be forever grateful.  I very much, would appreciate if someone could tell me, without skipping steps:

1. How to add a bar scale to this drawing.

2.  How to make my N symbol move with the drawing like I "think" it's supposed to.

3.  And how to set my (lineweights..?) correct so they show up correctly in paper space as they do in model space.  For example my center lines on the road are "Center" as instructed and appear so in Model space.  But BAM move to paper space and they are continuous.

Thank you for reading.

Zach

Ztrain, I need help in general. I'm in the same PennFoster class you are. I've been trying to get the school to give me hands on help with this project but apparently they don't offer any of that. I know this is probably a long shot but is there a way I can email you or we can somehow get ahold of each other. I've only made it the lots part of the project and can't seem to figure it out. I've been working on this for a month, well I've been stuck for a month.

Hey glad to see some one else that plays god and walks on water look at my image.

Please consider removing the attached drawing.  Why, you ask?  Simply because another student could download it, make a few minor edits then pass it off as their own thus skipping all the work and getting a major perk (i.e. - a completed drawing for no significant effort).  Just a suggestion; not a criticism.  Now to your questions.

1. You can either create a bar scale or find and download a bar scale block from an AutoCAD block sharing website.

2. The only way your north arrow is going to move with your drawing is if it is located over in model space.  I believe it currently sits in paper space.

3. Lineweight (how thick a line appears when viewed or printed) is different than linetype scale which is the issue I think you are asking about.  Yes or No?  Here is something you can try first.  Set LTSCALE to 1.  Set PSLTSCALE to 1.  Set MSLTSCALE to 1.  Use the REGEN command to update the display.

Re: bar scale.  I believe I may have provided either an image or possibly even a block in one of the threads regarding the Oleson Village project.  Take a look at the thread titled: Penn Foster Student Suffering with Oleson Village Map!!!

ReMark, thanks, I had the same thought about my attached drawing but it was late and I couldn't figure out how to remove it.  I will try to do that now, again.  (Frankly I feel so downtrodden by this situation I'm like, 'Good luck with that drawing if you want it.')  But no, I'll take it down.

Then on to your answers... :)

Yes, I'm so new to this and when I've logged on I've had so little time to participate.  But yes we need to find each other and other people too.  If you know how to "PM" me please send me your email.  I'm so happy to hear from you.  Send me your email please.  I'll get right back to you today.  And if that doesn't work I'll give you my email address publicly here.  I don't care anymore.  This Penn Foster program is nothing short of abusive.

BIGAL, I saw your image initially and that's why I told you I was a barefooter too and where I am located.  And that's why I changed my image.  Where are you located (generally)?

Did you have anything to say about my questions, por favor?

What exactly do you need help with?  Have you seen the thread titled: "Penn Foster Student Suffering with Oleson Village Map"?  I submitted many posts some of which contain images that may help you with this project.

I deleted the drawing for you.

Thank you so much.  And thanks for being part of all the positivity I've received here.

Yeah I was excited to see those links or a couple of them but as they appear live, when you click on them they no longer work.  (I'm only commenting on the two I clicked on maybe the others are shipshape)

Can you tell me what links you are referring to?  By the way, I am not a Penn-Foster student though I am familiar with most of the projects.
