We've been having reoccurring issues with zoom extents suddenly jumping out to extreme distances but have always been able to fix it by finding the block that caused it or copying geometry out (or often it will just not be there anymore after spending an hour trying to fix the drawing).

This is the first time I've had a drawing where every single object is causing it.  Blocks, hatches, polylines, the works, if you zoom to object, they are all at a ridiculous zoom.  I have gone through all the normal audit, purge etc. procedures and nothing has worked.

If any of you have run into this error before and found the cause, I would love to know.  Also, may be relevant, some of our template's items were developed in ZWCADD first before the company switched over to LT and the error would happen then too.

(note, these are company drawings so I can not share, also I am less concerned with fixing this particular drawing as I am fixing the error at the source. This has been hitting random drawings for a while and I'm tired of fixing the templates over and over)

Welcome aboard.

Can you check your LIMITS hopefully the value will be around where you think the drafting exists. Then try ZOOM ALL it uses limits, Extents uses maximum object area.

eg

: LIMITS
Limits are off: Set lower left corner or [turn limits ON] <0,0>:
Upper right corner <4200,2970>:

This did not fix it & the limits reset back to an incredible size immediately

Can you strip down a drawing with just enough to show the problem and share it?

Otherwise we would be guessing.

LIke @SLW210 maybe a block with something way out there, can insert every block in the dwg and get a X & Y size looking for biggest values and find problem.
