nicolas Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I am looking for the procedure for designing a G+1 residential house in Revit. I have already drawn it in Autocad. I want to redraw it in Revit. Following drawing the walls and beam for the ground floor plan. I want to know what's next in term of drawing sequence 1. i have a 450mm. plinth to draw. Do I need to create a new layout for this or I only offset the base of the wall? 2. I need to draw the slab on grade and the ceiling slab. Are they both done in the ground floor plan using architecture > floor (architectural) or I need to draw the first floor layout and have it as floor and have a roof layout and then draw its floor etc. 3. how do i sketch the first floor wall as most of the walls is going to be on the same alignment. 4. where I can i get the best aluminium openings: casement, sliding, louvered and a roller shutter to put in the drawing? 5. i have a thickening to do over the top/edge of the slab some 125mm. thick Thanks for your input. nicolas Posted January 4 Author Posted January 4 As far I have understood the level need to the top of the main slab (as there are various depth, level of slab throughout a building). The wall will then adapt to go under the slab whatever its thickness. The Floor is always the floor. Hence when in ground floor, I need to create the ground slab or slab on grade. In first Floor, I create the first floor slab which is the ceiling of the ground floor. I have to create a roof level to enable me to draw the roof slab over the first floor and the parapet wall. Still have the openings to do and I hope to find the different casement, sliding aluminium and glazed opening, to the thickening of the slab at its edge, stainless railing and an outer staircase. I am glad I was able to do a dog-legged staircase with winders something I have been fighting to do for more than 20 years in vain in a few minutes. Quote
nod684 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 (edited) for Item 4, there are lots of families available online for roller shutters, louver and windows. If you need guidance on how to create them, post it here. Edited January 9 by nod684 1 Quote
nicolas Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 Hi Nod684, I have been able to modify a roller shutter family and am almost finished except that I need to find a triple hung window. If you can help me find a family that would be great or use an existing family and modify it. Another difficulty that I see coming is to create a concrete surround with section 100mm x 100mm. around all windows and top hungs. Thanks to you and others for the advice and help. Quote
nod684 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 (edited) Try this one, roughly done... You can adjust the number of panels according to your need (No of Panels parameter) You can also turn on/off the window trim (the concrete surround with section 100mm x 100mm. around all windows that you mention) You can choose between Single and Multiple Panels by adjusting the MODE parameter value. 0 for Single, 1 for multiple. nicolas Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 Thank you very much. I will go through it right away. Meanwhile I got an application that create different windows/top hung etc in Revit called GEALAN Planersoftware. I will see how the family work and I will send you a printscreen. Thank you. Quote
nod684 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Great. But do not rely on 3rd party applications, learn to create the families by yourself. Quote
