Chudwick Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Has anyone found a way to remove fonts they are 90% sure aren't tied to any blocks or styles but still throw up this message 'Style in use, can't be deleted'? OR Has anyone figured out a way to find styles or blocks using a particular font? Quote
BIGAL Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Simple answer maybe use "purgestylesandsettings", CIV3D locks objects like blocks even though it has not used them, run the command before running purge. It is surprising how much stuff is locked. Quote
Steven P Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 If that fails, wblock the drawing to a new file, and replace the existing or copy all to a new file and replace the existing (mouse click top left to bottom right, not just select all of course won't select hidden and unused items) Quote
troggarf Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Try this free app from the appstore: https://apps.autodesk.com/CIV3D/en/Detail/Index?id=8629213286347851577&appLang=en&os=Win64 Quote
BIGAL Posted January 7 Posted January 7 @troggarf that would have been handy for me a few years ago, when making some DWT's, a particular staff member had made his own dwt, with blocks styles he had collected over the years, meeting government standards, it frustrated me that it would display error messages about missing fonts etc when loading, the culprits were buried deep inside objects and took some searching to find as they were CIV3D linked. It is surprising how much stuff is locked. Blocks can be part of a style when they're specified as markers or structures or other objects. You should be able to get rid of them by using the EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command, which sounds redundant, but it should get rid of AECC-specific components (like styles) and leave only the vanilla behind. I don't have access to Civil 3D at the moment to check. There are surely other ways to do the same thing. Quote
BIGAL Posted January 9 Posted January 9 We used purgestyleandsettings as part of clean up a dwg at design completion a bit like a normal Audit and Purge, it could shrink a dwg size sometimes a lot. Quote
tombu Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Have you tried [Find Non-Purgeable Items] from the Purge Dialog Box to see where the font is referenced? You could always Merge the unwanted text style with another to eliminate the font reference. Quote
