Lee Mac Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 A glaring mistake on my part... Code updated Quote
Guest kruuger Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Hello Everyone, I found Numinc.lsp and i want to say that... THIS LISP IS AMAZING-UNBELIEVABLE-COOLEST DCL I EVER SEEN... THIS PROGRAM IS SICK:D My suggestion. Can i? Is it possible to back to DCL window to change increment/prefix/suffix and with OK button continue numbering? Thank You kruuger Quote
Lee Mac Posted June 4, 2010 Author Posted June 4, 2010 Hi Kruuger, I'm glad you like my program I thank you for your feedback, but the user can just right-click, then re-invoke with perhaps another right-click and the previous settings are all displayed so that the user may alter them as necessary Thanks Lee Quote
Guest kruuger Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 i was thinking about type D to back to dialog and for example reverse numbering. any way now also works great. i'm reviewing your other programs, they are AWESOME!!!. i can learn a lot from them:) thanks kruuger Quote
Lee Mac Posted June 4, 2010 Author Posted June 4, 2010 Thanks Kruuger I think you can already do reverse numbering, (if I understand what you are referring to), by using a negative increment I may include your ideas in the next version Quote
Skybeorn Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 THIS program is Awesome LEE! What a time saver! I have a question. I am renumbering a lot of rooms within my building drawings, and many of the room names are incorrect. ( i.e. classroom, actually a Science lab) Is it possible to add a optional prompt that asks the user for a room name upon each insertion of a number? Of course there may be better way to do this! as you can see i am a n00b! Quote
Lee Mac Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 Hi Skybeorn, Thanks for your post - I'm really glad you like the program and that it saves you some time I don't particularly want to modify the program however to suit one user's needs, as this will affect how other users may use the program. Skybeorn Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Lee, I understand the knowledge behind your choice, and thanks for your response. *_* Quote
Lee Mac Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 You're welcome - I'm sure there is enough code posted on this forum to satisfy your request Quote

Sdrawn Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Hi Lee, I have Autocad 3D 2011. I downloaded your program but it's not working. Is this program compatible with this version of Autocad? The below is displayed at the command. Please help me to get this to work. It looks like a very nice program. Thanks, Sdrawn. Command: APPLOAD NumInc V2-9.lsp successfully loaded. Command: ; error: bad function: "0" Quote
Lee Mac Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 Hi SDrawn, Thank you for your interest in my program, I shall look to see what may be causing your problem. Lee Quote
Lee Mac Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 SDrawn, For clairification: 1) Does the error occur immediately after loading (i.e. before you attempt to invoke the command)? 2) How are you loading the file, I would assume just saving the attachment and loading it. The reason I ask is that if the answer to 1) is 'yes', this would imply that code is running outside of the function definition, - this would occur if you were perhaps copying and pasting code and missing parts. Sdrawn Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Thanks. With your help, I've got the program working now. You were right about copying & pasting and running the program outside of the function definition. Then... I returned to internet and downloaded & saved the program to my computer. It's working great now. Nice little program! Quote

elmoleaf Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 I just found this. Nice work. I like how it can accomodate any attribute in my blocks, and can go sequentially with numbers or letters. The real value for me is renumbering attributed blocks....room tags, door tags, equipment tags, column grids etc. I found it a bit difficult for this at first....it took a bit to find the "replace" option....it's buried after a long string of options . I'd never use the "enclose text with" shapes/text options, since that makes two separate autocad entities...not a block. Since I was only using the "replace" option with blocks, I found the dialog box asking for text layer, style etc. confusing at first.....then I realized I could mostly ignore those settings since they had no effect on my blocks anyway. However, I was still forced to select a positive text height, even though it doesn't get used with "replace" for a block. This could be a very useful tool for block users in my office, but I think the number of settings and options related to text only and the somewhat hidden "replace" option will be too much for novice users. I'd love to transform this into a simpler attributed block renumbering tool only. It might also be fantastic to have an option in such a tool to pick a pre-existing block in the drawing, and have it auto increment it as you insert that block additional times. Congratulations on great work....I hope to have those kind of programming skills someday! Quote
