JD Mather Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Here is your drawing. I know nothing of 3D. Alan - I was not able to get your geometry to align with the supplied geometry. (I changed your geometry to red and used the align command.) Notice that you closed one gap (short red line in first image) and another is still open. Something else appears to have been shifted somewhere in your "solution" as only some of the lines will line up for me. Quote
JD Mather Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Well I played with it a bit more to try to find where the mis-alignment was and I was able to come up with a better alignment than in my previous post but I cannot seem to find a perfect alignment with original all the way around. Quote
azman modular Posted December 17, 2007 Author Posted December 17, 2007 hi guys.. allan did connect all line ..thanks but i still need to extrude this...any sifu 3d give a hand here pls. i did try but it seems can't be done..why? Quote
JD Mather Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 allan did connect all line... Are you sure about that? Why would I post a picture of a gap if there was no gap? Alan, is there a gap in the file you posted? Alan, how many gaps were there in the file posted by azman? Quote
JD Mather Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 allan did connect all line Did you find the gap? Did you find the two gaps in your original dwg? To be succesful in 3D you will have to use osnaps and very carefully construct your geometry. but i still need to extrude this......i did try but it seems can't be done..why? Did you do the tutorials I suggested? As Cad46 indicated early on in this thread you will not be able to use the Extrude feature for this. As I indicated early on in this thread you will need to become familiar with Loft and Thicken and perhaps Slice. But first you need to learn Osnaps and read each of the thread responses very carefully to separate the useful information from the background noise. Quote
Knightmare Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I'm running into the same issue with joining lines. I am trying to sweep a profile along a path that doesn't share the some plan. I know you can use the 3Dpoly command, but you don't have the option to choose an arc and I have an arc included in the path. i can construct this path as seperate line/arc segments, but you cannot join them. What do you suggest? Quote
