CAD 2006 .cui file loaded as read only

I have just had to revert back to working on AutoCad 2006 and I am trying to set up my menu's. I go into the menu customisation and load in the cui file i am after. However when this is complete it comes up and says that it is read only. This appears in brackets after the name of the file and i am unable to edit the maro's within the menu's.

 

I need to change the macro's so as to work with the new layers i have.

 

Can anyone help.
