Danny Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Here's some Bryce renders, these below examples are by the some of the best in Bryce. I can't argue with the fact that Vue is a better render, but even the almighty Vue falls to that plastic faux procedural texture look that Bryce is infamous by new users, some thing that Terragen does not have. Not to get off the threads subject But after Tron, Sucker Punch and several discover channel animations Terragen 2 will be taking the wheel in terms of working in tandem with max/maya in most movie productions. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2199784§ion_id=2&genre_id=61&np http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2211087§ion_id=2&genre_id=33&np http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2206170§ion_id=2&genre_id=3&np http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?user_id=125716&page=1 Quote
f700es Posted June 13, 2011 Author Posted June 13, 2011 Very nice indeed, thanks for the links. T2 does seem to have the ability to produce nice images. I did not know it was used in Tron. Quote

f700es Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 Free Digital Sculpting program much like Z-Brush and Mudbox. Was so good that Pixologic bought it but still free, so far. Very cool. http://www.pixologic.com/sculptris/ F7 Quote
Danny Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 This is a great program, the UI is far easier than to use than Z-Brush will make, the only downfall is it only supports 32 bit processing Quote
f700es Posted October 12, 2011 Author Posted October 12, 2011 Adobe Rome, content creation and publishing in a SaaS platform. Development was halted but you can still download and install. http://rome.adobe.com/ Quote

Donald Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Your information is useful and I like the Gimp. I'm going to have a try. I'm wondering could you please offer the information about the open source of a software powerful like Dreamweaver? Quote
Donald Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 I've downloaded Gimp. But when I installed it, message pop up like this: "GIMP2.6 does not appear to be installed in the selected directory. Continue anyway? " How did this happen? Quote
f700es Posted March 30, 2012 Author Posted March 30, 2012 Not really much out there like Dreamweaver for free. You can look at KompoZer which does offer WYSIWYG editing. http://kompozer.net/ Also look at BlueGriffon http://bluegriffon.org/ MS has WebMatrix that is a bit harder to use but with more tools. http://www.microsoft.com/web/webmatrix/ Your information is useful and I like the Gimp. f700es Posted March 30, 2012 Author Posted March 30, 2012 I'd just try to re-install and see if that fixes it. Look at Paint.net as well. I've downloaded Gimp. But when I installed it, message pop up like this: "GIMP2.6 does not appear to be installed in the selected directory. Continue anyway? " How did this happen? Quote
f700es Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 New open source 2D CAD package out there, LibreCAD. I installed an alpha of r2 and it has promise. It has a command line and a similar look and feel to AutoCAD from several years ago, r14 or so. Took a quick spin but not much more. Default file format seems to be r2007 dxf. It can export to standard graphic files including SVG. Looks like it can import .shp files for what it's worth. Currently I wouldn't recommend it over DraftSight currently but perhaps it will mature with time. Quote
WilliamClarke123 Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Thanks for the useful links. I have use cutepdf writer from this and its awesome. Quote
SLW210 Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Since you brought this thread up, I'll add a little info. An offshoot and improved version of Openoffice is LibreOffice. There are two threads for free or cheaper than AutoCAD CAD programs. Free CAD programs for the non-student. Low cost CAD programs. Quote
f700es Posted September 11, 2015 Author Posted September 11, 2015 Wow, I need to re-do this thread. Some of these are way out of date Quote
