JWLEACH Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I'm looking to purchase a laptop to run AutoCAD 09. What would be the minimum memory size and what chip would work the best at a decent price. I would like to get a Dell but am open to others. Not able to spend allot and looking for some opinions. Thanks Quote
Ritch7 Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Hi, the best way to answer your question is to refer you to autodesks page where they have 09 listed and have a look at what they recommend, and base that into the specs when looking at a laptop. search for it on the forum this kind of question has been asked alot with all sorts laptops, mac etc Quote
f700es Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Do not get one with an Intel video card. Core 2 Duo cpus are better than AMD turin cpus for dedicated CAD work. Dell has the Vostro 2510 on sale for $699 Intel Core2Duo 1.8 Ghz 3 gb ram 15.4 LCD 8x DVD-RW 256mb nVidia GF8400 GS video card 250gb hdd wireless webcam Not great but good for $700. I would spend more but not a bad start. Quote
