HVAC Suite

Here are some. They are still raw.

Theres a lot of work gone into that Tim - well done

Tim is definitely the man. And when you add his stuff in with ASMI's piping program with the mitered and radius elbows, you have yourself a complete 2D HVAC package. :)

Thanks All... I would love to get the time to refine them into more of a "suite" with OpenDCL palettes or floating forms. The code still need allot of work, maybe once work settles down some I can revisit them. It was more of a learning thing than actually needing them.

Well, not sure I'd be any good, but if you ever need a hand with them - just give us a shout Tim, and I'd be happy to help you out

Hi all,

M new to CADtutor. Pls help me in solving my problem mentioned below:

I want to genarate plan view and elevation of ducts(Staright, cone, transition piece or elbows). for example: my inputs for a straight Duct will be Dia, Length and start point. is it possible to get a LIsp code for this so that i can work up on for other elements.

thanks a lot guys,

How do I make this file to opt out of the pattern that is drawn off to the right side?

The DU.lsp file in this post

Posted

DU.lsp was made by Fixo to meet specific request and is working great.

This pattern is for pipe cut layout when you plan to do your elbow out of pipe segments.

Just delete when you don't need it.

Thanks for the reply, yes the file works great.

It draws what is called gore elbows for heavy sheetmetal ducting.

The pattern off to the right is called a flat pattern for layout of flat sheetmetal.

Once cut, the pieces can be rolled to proper diameter in preperation of weld assembly.

Then the pieces can be welded together as an assembly to complete the elbow.

I understand all of this and what the file is doing. I've been doing ductwork for 13 years now, but I'm STUPID with lisp files.

Can someone explain how to modify this file for an option to OPT out of the pattern part so that I don't have to erase the pattern everytime I use the file?

Try "du1.lsp". You can compare what was deleted form "du.lsp"

For flat pattern I use perfectly working "Litio v2.0.5" add-in for Autocad.

What program do you use or you still in manual?

Thanks again, I've opened it up and looks like it will take a master mind to sort it all out.

The directory of flat patterns is large and yes, I still draw the gore elbows manually if there is no file, but I want to get a way from having all those files in the directory.

Litio, a lisp file is faster for just doing DL's but accurate for detailing, yes I have used it and "plate-n-sheet" at the last employer. As it is, you may have the money to buy things like that, where as I can't afford to spend like most of you.

Litio is around $100 and is worth the price.
