aengcs Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Anybody know where I can find an example of an ISOMETRIC spiral staircase not 3D Thanks Quote
papagyi Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 What do you means fri?....Isometric view with 2d spiral stair? Quote
skipsophrenic Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Are you on about a 2D drawing drawn with Isometric Snap on? Quote
aengcs Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 Yes I am talking about ismoetric snap on for a 2d drawing of a spiral staircase. Quote
JD Mather Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I would not even consider this. In fact I doubt it can be done and look halfway decent. Do as 3D and then run solprof if you really need a 2d isometric. Quote
skipsophrenic Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 To be honest i'd go with JD Mathers suggestion mate, you'll save yourself alot of trouble in the long run. Quote
aengcs Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 it is possible because one of our drafters just did it. Quote
wnycycling Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 it is possible because one of our drafters just did it. So how was it done? Quote
rkent Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Anybody know where I can find an example of an ISOMETRIC spiral staircase not 3DThanks It is easy enough to draw. Remember to use a rectangle or square to circumscribe round objects when doing iso drawings. In the example I am uploading you can see that. After you have the top view is it a trivial matter of copying one tread at a time down (or up) a set distance however many times it is needed. Quote
rkent Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 JD Mather;I would not even consider this. In fact I doubt it can be done and look halfway decent. It would look the same as using a 3d model and using commands to generate a 2d iso, it would look very decent. Quote
JD Mather Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 It would look the same as using a 3d model and using commands to generate a 2d iso, it would look very decent. I'm waiting for picture of your final results. Quote
rkent Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I'm waiting for picture of your final results. JD, I have work to do, but seriously for the past 100 years people have been drawing iso drawings and iso projections. To see the fantastic results capable with isometrics simply open any text book on drafting. Why would an iso look any different than a 3d model shown in an isometric view? As long as we are assigning work to do, lets see your 3D isoview of the stairs. Quote
