What do you means fri?....Isometric view with 2d spiral stair?

Are you on about a 2D drawing drawn with Isometric Snap on?

Posted

Yes I am talking about ismoetric snap on for a 2d drawing of a spiral staircase.

I would not even consider this. In fact I doubt it can be done and look halfway decent. Do as 3D and then run solprof if you really need a 2d isometric.

To be honest i'd go with JD Mathers suggestion mate, you'll save yourself alot of trouble in the long run.

it is possible because one of our drafters just did it.

So how was it done?

It is easy enough to draw. Remember to use a rectangle or square to circumscribe round objects when doing iso drawings. In the example I am uploading you can see that. After you have the top view is it a trivial matter of copying one tread at a time down (or up) a set distance however many times it is needed.

It would look the same as using a 3d model and using commands to generate a 2d iso, it would look very decent.

I'm waiting for picture of your final results.

JD, I have work to do, but seriously for the past 100 years people have been drawing iso drawings and iso projections. To see the fantastic results capable with isometrics simply open any text book on drafting.

Why would an iso look any different than a 3d model shown in an isometric view?

As long as we are assigning work to do, lets see your 3D isoview of the stairs.
