Hello,

I've encountered a peculiar issue where the draw order appears correct when a drawing is opened independently but appears incorrect when used as an external reference (xref).

 

Do you have any insights or suggestions on how to address this?

See this page for how to handle draw order in external references. Probably not what you're looking for, but that's the way it is with AutoCAD. Anywhere you use draw order tends to give you iffy results.

 

tl;dr the entire xref is treated as one object for the purposes of draw order. My first thought was to xref the same drawing twice with inverted layer states, but you can't do that.
