itacad Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Hi, I'm wondering if the express tools command "save all drawings" works because when I use it I can't get feedback: - When I move to the various files and read the last command indicated on the command bar there are no references to saves - If I look at the last file save inside the windows folder, the date and time do not correspond to when I launched the command Thanks Quote
eldon Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Are you thinking of CLOSEALL? This closes all open drawings, asking whether to save changes if the drawing has been modified since the last Save. Quote
itacad Posted March 25 Author Posted March 25 No, I imagine working on multiple open files, going for a break and saving all the files with a single command, returning from the break and, finding them already open and saved, starting editing them again Quote
BIGAL Posted March 25 Posted March 25 So a automatic save, have you looked at Autosave and the way it is setup to do what you want, check help. 1 Quote
Dadgad Posted March 26 Posted March 26 (edited) I was unaware of this Express Tool, but I like it. Don't worry about what is stated at the commandline. I just tried it, just look at the Dwg, and you will see that it does work, although you do need to specify where to Save them. I use ProSteel, and wish there was an equivalent command, as I usually open about 20 to 30 drawings at a time, while checking, and run Action Macros on them successively. So, yes this should do what you want. Or use SHUTDOWN option HIBERNATE, when you start your break, let your laptop take a break too. When you come back after break and restart your computer, Autocad will still be open, and all your drawings will also be open and waiting for you to continue on them. Bummer, I just checked to see if this EXPRESS functionality would work with ProSteel, and sadly, it does not. Edited March 26 by Dadgad Additional option added Quote
SLW210 Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I just Right-Click a Drawing Tab and select Save All. On the topic of SAVEALL, I get initializing on the commandline, then it goes to normal Command:, the file shows the saved date and time in Windows Explorer. Maybe you are having an issue if the last saved time is not current. Quote
itacad Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 I tried again and sorted the files by last modification in the windows folder and it seems to have worked, maybe there was a technical update time on the server and I was worried for nothing. Thanks for the feedback Quote
