Squirrel Cottage Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Good morning Boys and Girls I trust this finds you all fine and dandy on what is a sunny day hear in the UK’s second city. This is my second post of the day to do with the black art of web site building. I notice that a small bespoke icon if that’s what it is, appears on the address of some sites like cadtutor and as highlighted in the screen shot. I was wondering what it was and how would I go about installing one on web site. So if any of you wiz kids out their how understand this black art please take a little time out and explain it to me. Kind regards Alan Quote
NBC Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Hi Alan, i did a quick search on google, and came up with the following link: http://bontragerconnection.com/library/custom_icon_for_browser_favorites_list.shtml Hopefully, it will be of some use to yourself. Quote
Squirrel Cottage Posted September 29, 2007 Author Posted September 29, 2007 Hi NBC Just a quick note to say thank you for your help I am most applicative. I have installed the little thingy and I think it looks OK. Any way thanks again for your help. Alan Quote
CADTutor Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 That article is a little dated but the technique should work OK. The simplest way to do this is simply to add an icon file called favicon.ico to your root folder - that's all, no need for any additional markup. Quote
Squirrel Cottage Posted September 30, 2007 Author Posted September 30, 2007 Hi Dave Thank you thank you for your input most appreciated, so I was wondering if you had any suggestions regarding my other thread http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=16688 I have had a look at one or two bits and bobs to do with this but they talk about forms I don’t want a form or I don’t think I want a form; all I am looking for is something simple. It may be a good idea if you or any one else have any ideas that it is published on the above thread. Alan Quote
