Changing MText to Text

I usually use the explode command to change Mtext toText.

 

Recently the explode command does not allow me to explode Mtext to text.

 

What is going on?.  How can I  change Mtext to text?

 

I am using AutoCAD Electrical 2003.

Explode still works AFAIK in Vanilla AutoCAD at least.

 

Can you post a .dwg with an MTEXT that doesn't explode?

Have you tried using the Explode Text command on the Express menu? If that works, it may mean the problem is with EXPLODE and not the text. If it doesn't work, the problem may be the text itself. Not much to go on here.

Explode Text creates lines from the text/mtext AFAIK.
