Struggling with the viewport, I am unable to get the drawing from the model space to appear in the paper space, when I double click in the viewport it does not show the drawing from the model. I am sur it is just a setting, but not sure which one it is, any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you try Zoom Extents? Did you check to see if the layers are frozen in the viewport? Can you post the drawing?

Layers not frozen, when I double click in side or outside on the viewport it doesn't change anything.

Some possibilities.

There's an object far away from the rest, which means Zoom Extents gives you two little dots at the corners and a whole lot of nothing in the middle.

Your viewport is locked, so your Zoom command has no effect. (You'll get a warning about a locked viewport.)

The layers are frozen in the viewport, not in the drawing.

Your model space objects are annotative and don't match the scale of the viewport.

The viewport is looking at a side view, so you only see a thin line, which is the drawing laid on edge.

Without more information or the drawing itself, we can't tell you much more.

We could guess until the cows come home,  until we get a .dwg file we may never know the answer.

Sorry for the delay, please see attached file. The layout / paperspace is not functioning at all, I can only think its a setting somewhere.

When you go into paperspace are you typing MVIEW and then selecting amongst other things FIT ?

This will then (hopefully) give you your drawing inside the newly created viewport.

When you open paper space, there is only a dashed-line frame. This means that you have not created a viewport. Until you do, you will not see anything.

If only you had posted a drawing in the beginning, you would have had an answer then instead of everyone guessing. Still. it gives brains a workout!

I had a pretty good idea that was the issue.

Most are used to the default "Create viewport in new layout"
