For the Have You Tried this month, we are going to take a deep dive into the Properties palette.

Have you ever added an object onto the wrong layer? Or maybe assigned a set of objects the wrong color? Updating these properties are just some basic examples of what the Properties palette can do. Each object has a set of properties that can be modified in several ways. The Properties palette is an efficient way to modify several properties at once.

In this Have You Tried, we’ll cover:

  • Displaying the Properties palette and working with the controls on it
  • Editing the properties of an object and multiple objects
  • Filtering objects by type
  • Finding geometric information
  • Closing certain object types
  • Checking for and modifying non-coplanar objects (AutoCAD Only)

Learn how the Properties palette can help you easily modify objects with the step-by-step examples in Have You Tried: The Properties Palette topic.
