It's like a program with 15 million individual tools or commands instead of a program that has less or atleast combined tools/ commands where the program is smarter, and guesses what you are trying to do.

How frustrating would that program be to work with? Every time you try to do something it guesses what you're trying to do and then does the exact opposite of what you really want. That's a program I don't want any part of.

I would much rather work with a program that's maybe a little more complex in its command structure, and maybe I have to set a few extra parameters up front, but it gives me the results I require, exactly the way I want it, every time.

It's kind of like the Auto Levels, Contrast and Color in Photoshop. Yeah, they automatically color correct and balance out the image, but they do a terrible job of it. I won't leave anything up to the program to decide. I'll do it myself, thank you, and it will turn out exactly the way I want it. :geek:

In a way its very good that it's super complicated because thats what keeps everyone from jumping onboard.

Autodesk didn't design Autocad to be super complicated to keep people from using it. How silly would that be? Why would they create something that was so difficult to work with, that only a few brainiac's would be able to use it? And remember, this is a program that has evolved, over the last 25 years, into what it is today. When it first started out, it was just a simple 2D drafting program.

And as for comparing Autocad to Sketchup, you can't. It's apples and oranges. They are two very different programs.
