PJ01 Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Hello, I purchased a T-rex .dxf file from Etsy, and imported it into my AutodCAD 2020. It was a huge drawing, in imperial measurements. I drew a box around it to show dimensions, and in DIMSTYLE selected Alternative units with a 25.4 multiplier to show metric dimensions. Can anyone please tell me how to resize this drawing to about A3 size ( 300 x 200) Is it possible to import it into a template which will show it in metric immediately? Many thanks for your help PJ Trex dxf_01.dwg Quote

PJ01 Posted February 4, 2023 Author Posted February 4, 2023 Thank you for this, will follow up on SCALE. Never used it before. Do you select the whole drawing? Is there any way I acan import a drawing in feet and inches into a template that will show the drawing in metric millimetres? Quote
mhupp Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Select what you want to scale https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZP4ciCeS4R8 1 Quote
tombu Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 You could also -INSERT it into a blank drawing applying the scale either in the -INSERT command or by picking the block and modifying the scale in Properties. If this is something you'll be doing a lot get familiar with the INSUNITS, INSUNITSDEFSOURCE and INSUNITSDEFTARGET System Variables. There's at least three ways to do anything in AutoCAD. 1 Quote
