kjoliver77 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I have been having this issue when I try to dimension an item in a view port on my layout, and the dimension units are way off. For example if I was measuring something at 3000mm the dimension would be 60. Hmmmm? How do I change this? It doesn't seem to be inches either. Sometimes it will give me the right dims and sometimes not. Quote
stevsmith Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Make sure dim associate is ticked. >Tools >Options >User Pref >Dim assoc Quote
ksperopoulos Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I have run into this before. Are the object that you are dimensioning AutoCAD objects? We use a vertical application for AutoCAD to draw our piping and we can't dimension those objects in model space, but we can dimension regular AutoCAD objects. Quote
kjoliver77 Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 Not always AutoCAD objects. I work with MillerCAD objects from Herman Miller to create workstations and the like. I usually end up manually overriding the text. Quote
stevsmith Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 It is bad practice to override the text. Alot of people on here despise it. Quote

kjoliver77 Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 Thank you Dipali. You were very helpful. And so you know, I don't WANT to make a habit of overriding text, but I was at a loss for what to do... hence asking the question on the forum. Quote
