Monica_S Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 I had to convert a drawing I created in imperial units to metric. Everything went well except when I plot with the same .stb files I had been using with imperial, the lines are all very thin. Do I have to create a new .stb file for metric or is there a setting that I am missing somewhere? Quote
BIGAL Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 More than likely in metric lines are say 0.18 0.25 0.35 0.5 0.75 1.0 etc start with all set to 0.25. These are the old ISO ink pen sizes. Quote
CadAuto Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 It sounds like the lineweights in your .stb file may not be scaling correctly when you switch between imperial and metric units. Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue: In AutoCAD, go to the "Application Menu" and select "Options" In the "Options" dialogue box, go to the "Display" tab and ensure that the "Lineweight" option is set to "On" Go to the "Plot and Publish" tab and make sure that the "Scale Lineweights" option is set to "Yes" Try regenerating the drawing by going to the "Home" tab and clicking the "Regen" button If these steps don't solve the problem, you may need to create a new .stb file that is set up specifically for use with metric units. You can do this by following these steps: In AutoCAD, go to the "Layers" tab and click the "Layer Properties" button In the "Layer Properties Manager" dialogue box, click the "New" button In the "New Layer" dialogue box, enter a name for the new layer and select "Continuous" for the "Linetype" Click "OK" to create the new layer In the "Layer Properties Manager" dialogue box, click the "Lineweight" column for the new layer and select a lineweight from the dropdown menu Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each layer you want to include in the .stb file When you have finished creating the layers, go to the "File" tab and select "Save As" In the "Save Drawing As" dialogue box, select "Save as type" as "AutoCAD Linetype (*.stb)" and give the file a name Click "Save" to create the .stb file You can then select this new .stb file when plotting your drawing in metric units. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions. Quote
