TRIM is being weird

Recommended Posts

is there a setting I need to set? when I trim it doesnt trim like before, it goes past the line instead, it just started happening.

from the photo below, look at where the Trim command stops. Instead of stopping at the vertical line, it goes past it, how do i fix this?

Are you using quick mode or standard?

Is it just certain drawings?

sorry i dont know what is Quick mode and Standard.

I haven't been doing much drawing lately, but so far its only this particular drawing. I noticed when I want to click the end of a PLine or Line, the cursor somehow never latches on to the end, it latches on to 4 points AWAY from the end of the L/PLine. it's really weird.

@neuri check to see if all the lines are on the same elevation. Also check to see if perspective view is off.

(setvar 'perspective 0) ; Turn off Perspective view in current viewport

I agree with mhupp. It looks like you're working in perspective or possibly a rotated UCS. In the image below, I projected your trim line and it looks like it's trimming exactly where it's supposed to.

It's all on the same elevation, the view is from the Top, 2D Wireframe.

Here's another weird trim, on the left you can see it's a single polyline, but when I trim, only a tiny section is affected.

Ignore the Properties panel and other weird stuff, I have no idea how to use paint.net so this picture is scuffed.

What is your EDGEMODE variable setting?

Sounds like other members are on the right track.

Do you have 3D Snaps turned on?

Have you tried an AUDIT of the dwg?

Or a commandline    -PURGE  (yes, include the  -  )
