GeeN Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Hi, I was trying to draw a circle of certain dia and on marking the dimension using DIMDIAMETER, the diameter symbol came automatically... I want to remove the symbol alone and keep only the diameter. Am just unsure how to remove it... Pls help... -G Quote
GeeN Posted February 16, 2009 Author Posted February 16, 2009 I know it can be done by removing the angular brackets in the properties and typing the text u want... But is there any other way? Is it advisable to remove the angular bracs?? Quote
Tiger Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Not advisable at all to type your own text instead of theangular brackets - the reason being that the measurement will not be updated if you change the diameter of the circle. I know there is something in the Properties about a suffix - check if that is ticked or has something written. As soon as my AutoCAD stoppes complaining it has no license ( ) I'll get you a screen shot. Quote
dbroada Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I had typed something almost identical to Tiger but I thought I would check first. I agree that you shouldn't remove the as you would then break the link, however I can't find a way to supress the diameter symbol either. If it was imperative that the diameter symbol MUST NOT be used I would tend to dimension it as a linear distance across its diameter. Quote

franklinreid Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I'm like GeeN except I want to use the DIA word instead of the symbol but I don't want both and can't remove the symbol. Quote

franklinreid Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 This is what I get: DIMOVERRIDE Enter dimension variable name to override or [Clear overrides]: dimpost Enter new value for dimension variable : Enter dimension variable name to override: I guess I don't understand what it is asking me.
