hazardman Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 i've run into this quite a few times where i would open a drawing and there would be an override on the current dimstyle...i would clear the override and save the drawing...another day i would open the file and the override is created again... i greatly suspect that the annotation scale is the culprit...when i check the dimstyle override the scale for dimension under the fittab is set to a number reflecting the scale...ie if the annotation is 1"=1'-0" it will be 12...if it's 1/4"=1'-0" it will be 48 etc... i also noticed that an override is created after editing a dynamic block... in addition to the above, the override is not created if the anotative scale is the same as the "fit" number...humm... anyway, long story above, is there a variable i can set to prevent this?.. G-Prime Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 "visretain" set to 1, Had this problem like literally 2 days ago, my buddy across from me helped me out Quote
SLW210 Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 As a helpful hint, in 2008 you can go to Express>Tools>System Variable Editor. It gives a list of all the variables and what each setting does. Quote
hazardman Posted August 15, 2007 Author Posted August 15, 2007 visretain?.....that's for retaining layer changes made to an xref so i don't see how this would affect the override in the dimstyle...anyhooo, it is set to 1...i tried zero just in case but the override still happens... i looked at the variable list but couldn't see anything that would control the annotation scale thus affecting the current dimstyle... any other ideas?.. hazardman Posted August 15, 2007 Author Posted August 15, 2007 oops...thought i found something but... Command: CANNOSCALE Enter new value for CANNOSCALE, or . for none <"3/4" = 1'-0"">: . Cannot set CANNOSCALE to that value. *Invalid* so why does it offer "." for none?.. Quote

CadBrat Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Hi Guys-- I'm Back! Hope you Cadsters are doing well, enjoying the autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, etc. So I'm in Arch 2009 and my CANNOSCALE is set to 1/8"=1'-0" and previously my scale units were visible in my drawing. Now suddenly they're so tiny, they've disappeared (1"=1'). This keeps happening! I can force a change back to 1/8"=1'-0" each time by going into Anno Object Scale (through Properties). However, I cannot for the life of me find the Drawing Setup box that Hazardman shows above--I think the DimScale Override is killing me! I keep looking through my Dim Style Mgr. and CANNOSCALE gets me no GUI at all. Aauurrggh! Thanks in advance. Quote
