I'll spare the long story behind my reasons for wanting to do this without dialogue boxes.

Q: Is it possible edit a tables Data Link value (to an external XLS file) via VBA?

If so, how..?

If not, is it possible with LISP or a sequence of command line entries?

I've tried searching the VBA Reference, trial and error, the autodesk discussion forum, ACAD help file and googling with no luck.

what version of autocad are you using?

I use 2008 Electrical to do all of my VBA programming but I have 2009 installed as well.

See attached screen shot.

The excelfile.xls is linked to a table that I made in ACAD. You can update the contents of the ACAD table via command prompt no problem but I can't seem to figure out how to edit the "c:\excelfile.xls" (string) link without using a GUI.

Can anyone describe how I can dig through the table entity to find what I'm looking for?

Thanks.
