deano33 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Sometimes when I select an object in autocad and press the delete key autocad refuses to issue the delete command. This is driving me crazy. How do I force autocad to always delete no matter what when i press the delete key. many thanks in advance. Quote
CyberAngel Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Is your keyboard wireless? If so, have you checked the batteries lately? If not, have you checked and cleaned the cable connections? How old is the keyboard? Could there be some crumbs or other debris blocking that key? Is it possible that your NumLock is turned on? NumLock disables some Delete keys. Quote
SLW210 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Have you checked this in other programs? Quote
BIGAL Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Have seen this happen randomly, press e and repeat delete using say mouse, then strange it works again. Quote
tombu Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Moving my mouse back and forth and hitting Delete again always seemed to work for me. Haven't seen it in a while since I've gotten in the habit of jigging the mouse before hitting the Delete key. Quote
eldon Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 It seems I have been missing something all these years. I have never, ever, used the DELETE key in AutoCAD. I always type "e" and pick the objects, and "e" is handier on the keyboard than reaching over for the DELETE key. Quote
SLW210 Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Same here "e" and my thumb button on the mouse is "ENTER". Easy Peasy At home no thumb button, "e" and Spacebar. Easy Peasy Though long ago I had a setup using mouse with left and keyboard right, Delete>Enter was easier. Quote
