What have I done to cause 2 types of curser cross-hairs and how do I undo it?

Not sure what trouble I have gotten myself into this time, but please tell me why this has happened and how to stop it. (I want to use just the regular, plain jane cross-hairs)

Change the View back to Top as in the first image.

I was just about to say that!   

You have gone into Free Orbit and gotten yourself out of a pure orthogonal view.

In a pure Orhtogonal View your cursor icon will look how you like it.

This screenshot wil show you some other ways to approach Cursor Display preferences.
