This is a weird one. My command line will stop taking keyboard input for no reason I can see. The cursor moves when I type, but the characters don't display, and pressing Enter doesn't run the command. The only fix I've found is to restart AutoCAD.

The mouse still works, so I can save my work and shut down the app. The app hasn't frozen, it's just the keyboard input that's stopped.

Sure it didn't lock up?

Can you run commands by clicking on the Ribbon, Menu, or Toolbars?

Happens to me once a week due to a crappy graphics card.

Windows 10 OS?

Seem to be an issue at one time, usually update (or rollback) device drivers. But here is a list I found...

Fix Keyboard Not Typing in Windows 10 Issue

Method 1: Turn off Filter Keys

Method 2: Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter

Method 3: Uninstall Keyboard drivers

Method 4: Update Keyboard Drivers

Method 5: Uninstall Sypnatic Software

Method 6: Run DSIM Tool

Method 7: Use Standard PS/2 Keyboard Drivers

Method 8: Update BIOS

Method 9: Perform a Clean Boot

Method 10: Repair Install Windows 10

I have my commandline turned off (CTRL+9) and use F2 if I need to see a history, etc.

If you have more than one drawing open, try switching to one of the others and back again.
