ILoveMadoka Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 I have several blocks that have fields created withing them, when I insert the block into a drawing then go to Drawing Utilities -> Drawing Properties those fields are not in the list to edit. I know how to go through the tedious steps of manually re-entering every single field but wondered if there is a way to get those fields to "add automatically" upon insertion into the drawing. Please advise. Quote
ILoveMadoka Posted March 19, 2021 Author Posted March 19, 2021 (edited) Wow... I have never heard of that command. Unfortunately the Propulate command expects that the fields are pre-exisiting and simply updates them. It does not insert/import/create them even from other drawings or templates.. (Or I cannot figure out how to get it to work correctly) Edited March 19, 2021 by ILoveMadoka update Quote
BIGAL Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 A simple pline and area field worked copied to another dwg, so what are the fields in you blocks, may need to post a dwg. Quote
SLW210 Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Like BIGAL stated, you may need to post what you have. Here is a Tutorial for PROPUGATE. Quote
tombu Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 From AutoCAD Help PROPULATE (Express Tool): https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2021/ENU/?guid=GUID-BD03320F-3430-4C2F-80A3-AAC1167AF019 This can also be done with lisp which is nice because you add a custom property to the list without knowing how many are already there or overwriting them. I set Summary Title: to the drawing name along with a few custom properties after I chose the initial layout with title block for the project. I've got more macros in my customized Properties panel for selecting the engineer who'll sign the plans as well as setting other custom properties. Quote

Custom Properties may be the only thing I hadn't used that lisp for. Must be referenced in my custom ribbon a few dozen times. Thanks Lee! Quote
SLW210 Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 I had no idea it did Custom Properties. Good deal LeeMac! Thanks for finding that ILoveMadoka! 1 Quote
