AutoCAD 2014 - Slow Menu

Hi,

 

ACAD2014, Windows 8 64 bit.

 

I have been switching between ACAD2014 and 2015 on the same PC for a little while, predominantly 2015 until today.

 

I have notice there is a significant lag when trying to access the menu in 2014.  When hovering the cursor over a menu/flyout, there is a delay of a few seconds (at least) before the menu appears, and the flyouts suffer the same delay.  

 

I have also noticed that in 2015, I am able to click a menu (or flyout) and it will force the menu to open immediately, this doesn't work in 2014.

 

Has anyone seen issues like this before?  Know of a fix?

What is the need for different versions? Why not use the more current one since it is performing better?

Hey Rob, 

 

There are a handful of reasons why I prefer 2014. Mostly all related to some change in the 3D modelling engine (or something), that causes a few bugs with geometry + ProSteel. Some big bugs and some small, but all the most annoying ones from 2015 are absent in 2014.

 

... This menu lag is the only issue I have with 2014. 

 

Tested 2014 on my home PC, Windows 8.1 64bit.. No menu lag. 

 

Any ideas?
