Scaling on an A3 template

Hi

i want to draw a rectangular building that is 10000 mm x 5000 mm 
I have opened an A3 template  with a scale of 100:1 

 

when I draw the lines they are full size and don’t go anywhere in fitting within the A3 sheet template 

 

sorry about the basic question - and I am sure I am just doing something  wrong with the scale

Should that be 1:100 If that doesn't fix the problem then please post the dwg file so we can see.

Have you checked that the template that you are using is a metric one?

 

Have you checked what the plotting units are?

 

A full sized A3 sheet in landscape orientation is 420mm by 297mm, and at 1 to 100, that would be equivalent to 42000mm by 29700mm. Ample room for your 10000mm by 5000mm building.
