permanent serial on windows

Hi every one,

I'm using this code to get unique serial of any system :

(setq	nu (vlax-get-property
	     (vlax-invoke
	       (vlax-create-object "Scripting.FileSystemObject")
	       'Getdrive
	       "c:"
	     )
	     "SerialNumber"
	   )
  )

It works well for each system, but only problem that I have with the code is that the serial number changes when widows changes. or it gives two different serial numbers when computer has two windows (two operations). is there a permanent serial (unchangeable) on system and unique for each system?

Use the MAC address instead of a HDD serial number, the NIC is far less likely to be replaced.

The Mac address also changes with  the change of windows.

No it doesn't - the MAC address is a physical address hard coded into the hardware and is therefore independent of the OS.
