Dynamic Stretch with Array and Trim?

Recommended Posts

I've got a VERY simple dynamic block... it's a linear stretch command on a rectangle, with a repeating pattern inside. Now, I  could just array it, which is what I'm doing right now... but I need it to not extend past the end of wherever the rectangle ends. (I'm creating a simple unistrut block for those of you that recognize this pattern!)

I'm thinking the only way to do this is to make the interior pattern into a custom hatch and make the associative hatch stretch? I've never worked much with custom hatches... so I'm not sure how that would work. Any other easier options that I'm just missing?

For me using array of a slot just pick 2 points angle is ok, so array a pline then trim last if required. If you use ucs to set angle then array will follow. Maybe "group" the slots so they look like one also add outside pline as a slotted beam.

The hatch uses lines and insert point could be a problem.

Here is arctochords.lsp then use a hatch pattern maker. Trying one out at moment if successful will post pattern.  Arc-to chords.lsp

Yeah, but I'm trying to avoid having to actually TRIM at all. I want this to be a simple block that people can grab and use as simply as possible.
