BEST EQUIP OPTIONS ...

Friends,

I am looking around for the best quality/cost for the following:

(2) large monitors (wall mount option)

(1) laptop

(1) wireless keyboard

 

These components I am looking to acquire will need the following:

• FAST processor (AutoCAD and other 3D software capability)
• Clear and Crisp visibility for in-person demos
• Elegant and/or sleek Design 

PLEASE PROVIDE ME WITH YOUR BEST OPTIONS!

I did not know that Cadtutor was a PC shop.

 

It depends on where you are in the world. A laptop spec could be I7, at least 16Gb ram, SSD, and a good graphics card.

 

Wireless keyboard a cheap one that works not sure about much more same with mouse.

 

Big screen what do you call big ? Maybe a projection system.

Have they figured out a way to jamb a good Video card into a laptop?

 

Any dual monitor set up bigger than 24" are going to cost nearly as much as the laptop.

What 3D programs will you be running?

Also, you left out a very important piece of information. What is your budget for all of this equipment?

 

I can tell you from my own experience, if you're going to be doing a lot of 3D work, and especially if you're going to be doing a lot of rendering, you should forget about the laptop and get a desktop PC with a 6-core I7 processor, 32GB RAM and a mid to high end graphics card. If you skimp on the specs, you will regret it.

 An AMD Threadripper CPU is also a good option. Get an m.2 PCIe NVME solid state hard drive. GTX 1080 minimum graphics if not an RTX based unit. There is NO need for either a Xeon or Quadro based system. You will NOT see a ROI on those upgrades.
