Alex-77 Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Hello everyone, I hope this is a good new for electricians who work in CAD. Free software toolkit for electrical designers and students - MeteorSpec is totally upgraded. Supported CAD platforms are AutoCAD® BricsCAD® and GstarCAD. You can download MeteorSpec on https://meteorspec.com/ We welcome any constructive feedback Quote
f700es Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Wow, this is free? There has to be SOME catch. Quote
Alex-77 Posted August 6, 2019 Author Posted August 6, 2019 Yes, MeteorSpec LT is absolutely free and it will develop as a free version. You are right, the benefit for us will be somewhere, I hope. We have a prospective plan - to make a PRO version in the future. MeteorSpec has a powerful potential for development, we only need to understand - in which direction to develop it. Thank you for feedback. Quote
f700es Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 The PLINE aspect is what I am looking at. We do a lot of space analysis with our drawings and all of the data is contained in room, building, dept plines. Sean Quote
Ish Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 same i am looking for road cross section and profile. Quote
Alex-77 Posted August 7, 2019 Author Posted August 7, 2019 Yes, MeteoSpec-PLINE is very universal at its core. What will we do in MeteoSpec-PLINE in the next version? We will add polylines shortcuts like MeteoSpec-NETWORK, where each cable line can have an individual shortcut (leader or multi-leader) for displaying cable data. There will also be a “Labels Manager” to automatically update them. f700es Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 I went to install and I did not see a U.S. option. Is there going to be a US localization and perhaps imperial units update? Quote
Alex-77 Posted August 8, 2019 Author Posted August 8, 2019 MeteorSpec PLINE and ELECTRIC components can be configured to metric or imperial units. NETWORK component only supports metric units. Each component has an individual settings dialog box. The settings of each component are independent of the others. MeteoSpec-PLINE saves its settings in a dwg file. Quote
f700es Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 That's good to know but as I said there is no option for US during the install. To me it seemed missleading. I'll try again this morning. Thanks Quote
