rkent Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 This is a great site. Hard to believe that Autodesk's (a large corporation) is so lame and this one (sponsored by an individual) is so good. Thank you, and I just found the donation link today so I will be taking care of that soon. Quote
ReMark Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I second rkent's statement. If I had ten thumbs they would all be UP for CADTutor! No jokes about typing like I have ten thumbs. Thank you very much. Quote
skipsophrenic Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I agree, now where's that donation button??? I'd like to donate on my payday. Quote
ReMark Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Skipso: You can donate at the bottom of the page for Michael's Corner. Quote
Lee Mac Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 ...If I had ten thumbs... Not sure how you can tell which of your mechanical extremeties is a finger or a thumb... but yeah, it is a great site... Quote
CADTutor Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Skipso: You can donate at the bottom of the page for Michael's Corner. And now you can also find a "Donate" button at the foot of the forum homepage - no excuses. Quote
Strix Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 In reality we should probably have one of those on every page David - for the threads where a member finds a quick answer to something they've spent 3 days not finding out for themselves  Quote
Lee Mac Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Nice idea Strix - most users are so elated at having their problem solved I doubt they'd hesitate for 2 secs before donating. Quote

I'm just a bit wary of going over-the-top but I think the forum homepage and the showthread pages are logical places for it. Quote
Strix Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Cool what would it look like below the quick reply box? most people don't even know the related threads list exists at the bottom of the page, so perhaps having the donate button below it will make people miss the button? I'm not keen on the colour either it's a bit 'demanding' in an odd kind of way (picky aren't I? ) Quote
Lee Mac Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I'm not keen on the colour either it's a bit 'demanding' in an odd kind of way I agree about the colour - I'm thinking a medium shade of green? Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 In keeping with the site, it should be made to resemble a fishing lure (preferably an old beat up wooden one) Quote
Lee Mac Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 In keeping with the site, it should be made to resemble a fishing lure (preferably an old beat up wooden one) haha... very nice idea Max - I like it! Turning this site into an Angling website... Quote
ReMark Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Strix would like the color changed to muave. I like the fishing lure idea posted by maxwell. It's got a bit of a hook to it. We already lure them (newbies) in with the bait (free help with AutoCAD related problems). The donor's name could be included in the site as the catch of the day! Quote
Strix Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 if we're all going to talk about fish, we're going to have to move this thread to the chat forum Quote
Cad64 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Fishing discussion moved to the chat section: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=31873  Quote
Daimyo Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 A very nice site indeed. Thanks to all the veterans who keep helping us newbies. Quote
