Oscar Posted April 6, 2019 Share Posted April 6, 2019 Hey guys I have been encountering this issue alot at work. It cost me a deadline. C3D 2017 and C3D 2019 are not compatible with each other at all (C3D Objects get messed up only) I am working on some drawings now and they also are in 2019 when they are supposed to be 2017 erghhh and it looks like I did it but I don't know how it happened. I am retired now but made big effort to make sure everyone was on compatible versions we went from 2016 to 2019 for around 20 workstations so a big job. CyberAngel Posted April 8, 2019 Share Posted April 8, 2019 If you have a client or co-worker with the later version, they should be able to save down to the earlier version. Not sure if there's any way to force your co-worker to save to 2017 by default. We were tearing our hair out in 2008 when Civil 3D came out. It wasn't backward compatible with Land Development Desktop. You either learned an entirely new package or got slowly shut out of work. rkmcswain Posted April 9, 2019 Share Posted April 9, 2019 If you open a 2017 or earlier drawing in 2019, you get a clear warning of what the result will be. Someone ignored this warning. 1. Go back to the last 2013 DWG version of the drawing(s) 2. Upgrade to 2019 3. If the AEC objects in the drawing are limited to what can be translated via LandXML, you can export those objects from 2019 (surface, points, etc.) to LandXML, and then open the drawing in 2017, erase the now proxy objects, and import them back using the LandXML file. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
