Think_soo Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Could someone tell me how I would represent the thickness of this metal see the bottom piece to this aluminum welded widget I need to draw it out now I'm wondering the bottom plate in which the pieces are arranged on from a front view how would I represent the thickness of this bottom piece would be represented by one line or would it be two separate lines by the way the thickness of this matter what is 1/8 of an inch Quote
CyberAngel Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 It depends on whether your company has standards and how you like to draw. There are pros and cons to both methods. If you use two lines to represent a piece, you can hatch the space between them and attach other objects to the exterior. If you use a polyline with width, you only need to manipulate one entity. Depending on the scale, it may be hard to tell the difference in the printed version. 1 Quote
BIGAL Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Be carefull using a pline with width when you dimension it will be to the middle of the pline. Not necessarilly top or bottom of plate. Like Cyberangel it depends on your drawing stds if you imply the dim is the height measured from the top side of the plate then no problems. 1 Quote
ReMark Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 Construct the object in 3D and extract the 2D views from the model. The most accurate way. Quote
