Hey!

I'm doing my bachlor grade this year, and I figured I wanted to make a 3D-model of what I am creating in AutoCAD.

I've been working with AutoCAD intense the last week, and figured quite alot, but I've stumbled into a problem.

I've made an 3d object by first drawing a path with pl, then done "f" to make nice curves, and ext'ed a circle with the patch creating a "tunnel".

But I want to make the tunnel longer at some point, and figured "well, can't I just slice it up and do a ext on the face, then put it all together".

But when I run the slice command and select my "tunnel" it tells me it's not a solid object.

Is there any easy way to fix this?

I know a way is to make the circle into a region before ext'ing it, but the the object is rather advance and would be alot of work to do it all over again.

Any help would be nice :)

so, seeing nobody has come up with an answear, does this mean it is actualy impossible? and I have to start on scratch again? :/

So here u have a picture of the part I want to extend.

(BUMP: I wasn't allowed to post picture or link cos I don't have 9 or more posts...) *finding another solution*

I've tried to slice it, but that doesn't work cos it's not a "solid object".

So I guess 2 possible solutions;

To make the obcjet solid so I can slice it

or

Use some other magic command to stretch it? :P

Plz help anyone :)

If the object is a “Surface” then the THICKEN command may be able to turn it into a solid.

since you are using acad09 cant you just drag a point on your surface and pull it?

I think acad09 menu has convert to solid or convert to sheet up in a menu. since it looks to be a closed surface you may want to try that. i dont have 09 so i cant tell you for sure but i remember seeing that.

Did try this, but when selected no place to drag ;)

Tried thicken as well, found 1 object, but it got filtered away :P guess it wasn't able to thicken it

But I figured that the fact I made it an block was the problem.

I went into block editor and now I am able to stretch :))

Ty for lots of respond :) and nice tutorials!
