f700es Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Looks like Blender is finally getting it. Great new stuff. Quote
Cad64 Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Wow! It's actually starting to look like a professional 3D program without all the frustrating interface weirdness of previous versions. 1 Quote
f700es Posted December 13, 2018 Author Posted December 13, 2018 I'd say, here is a very simple SketchUp model brought into Blender via .dae. The stone texture needs some work but the real-time rendering is crazy! 1 Quote
Cad64 Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Yeah, looks great. Blender is really starting to look like a real contender. Who needs expensive software anymore when Blender can pretty much do all the same stuff, for FREE!! Quote
tzframpton Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 I follow some Motion Graphics feeds on Instagram and some of the recent Blender outputs have been very impressive. -TZ 1 Quote
f700es Posted December 18, 2018 Author Posted December 18, 2018 Agreed Tanner. For free software it simply blows me away what it can do. 1 Quote

Yeah, and now that they are finally making the UI more user friendly, it's becoming a lot more interesting to me. I'm gonna have to check out this latest release. 1 Quote
f700es Posted December 18, 2018 Author Posted December 18, 2018 I still think that the materials panel needs some work but if it goes the way the overall GUI has gone they will get there soon. The big "Derp" improvement was the STUPID default right-click to select. WTH was that all about?? Quote
