ACnewbie Posted July 5, 2018 Author Posted July 5, 2018 No, it was on the Dell site. I looked at the Dell site 1st and couldn't find it. Sold out? But this one (I believe) had the same specs as you listed. Quote
f700es Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Probably, it was on their Outlet site with a 48% coupon. Yesterday only Quote
addysmith97 Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 First of all, here you not clearly describe the specifications you required but anyway I think Lenovo H50 desktop is the best computer for AutoCAD . It has the following configuration: Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM And intel graphic Card. Quote

That's a nope for me too. One of the other computers mentioned previously in this thread would be a better choice. Quote
addysmith97 Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 I would not recommend buying anything below 8 GB for any type of laptop for a professional and i5 or i7 processors are the best pick for AutoCAD in $1000, And you should go for at least Nvidia GeForce 1060 graphics card. Some good laptops for Autocad beginner are : MSI WE72 Workstation Laptop. DELL PRECISION M5510. Microsoft Surface Book. Dell Inspiron 7000. HP Spectre x360 Mobile Workstation Quote
f700es Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Just remember that a Xeon and Quadro based unit is a waste of money for AutoCAD. An i5 and gtx if no rendering is involved and an i7 and gtx for rendering. All the ram you can afford and a nvme m.2 ssd. Quote
ACnewbie Posted November 13, 2018 Author Posted November 13, 2018 Guys, I purchased the suggested computer For home use this is what I would get... Dell Inspiron Gaming (bear with me) for $799.99 Intel Core i5 8400 6-core @ 4 GHz 8 GB DDR4 2400 (get 8 more later, $70) 1 TB SATA HDD (it has an M.2 PCIe slot for another drive, 256 GB M.2 $120) Nvidia GTX 1060 (just fine) 6 months ago. :) Quote
tzframpton Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 That's a good setup. I recently bought a home computer with similar specs. I bought an HP ProBook 450 G5: https://www.microcenter.com/product/504300/probook-450-g5-156-laptop-computer---silver Upgraded it to 32GB RAM. I installed Revit and Navisworks and already jumped into a few heavily modeled projects at home over the weekend and I must say, for this computer, it handled it amazingly well. I went 32GB just because I wanted to, but 16GB would have been just fine. This i5 with the NVME drive and 900 series GeForce, and a license of Win10 Pro for connecting to domains, for only $700 retail, then add a little more cash for the RAM upgrade, is about as good as you can get for the price. What's nice is it's a 15" form factor and still has a 10 key on the keyboard, and it's backlit. My projects and Revit/Navisworks models will seriously buckle a computer and this unit stepped up to the plate and is batting away with ease. Best specs for under $1,000 for a laptop IMHO. Quote

Nothing wrong with those specs at all. 1 Quote
