ALLI Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Hi everyone, I hope the Festive season treated everyone well:D . Now back at work I have gone from using 2004 to 2009, we use a linetype for sediement fences in 2004 which is a line with a solid square centred on the line at regular intervals, well in 2009 it just comes up as a crazy line. Does anyone have a solution or a linetype like I'm using, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
CarlB Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I assume this is a complex linetype that requires a .shx file. Is that .shx file located in AutoCAD's search path? Does typing "SHAPE" then "?" on the command line bring up a .shx file name with associated shape names? Quote
ALLI Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 the linetype is in a default drawing, and can't work out how to open it to edit and see how it is made up. Quote
CarlB Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 If you don't have the linetype definition file you can recreate it using a lisp routine at http://www.turvill.com/t2/free_stuff/index.htm TO-LIN.LSP Extracts definition data for any unknown LineType (simple or complex) from any R14 or A2K drawing & writes to NEWLT.LIN (ASCII) file. ----------------- Quote
ALLI Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 Cool bananas, thanks I'll give that a go! Quote
ReMark Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 CarlB: That's an interesting LISP routine. Thanks for making us aware of it. Quote
wannabe Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Not looked at the rotuine, but I would also look into the create linetype located in express tools. Quote
