adding attribute fields to a shapefile from another

I have to add 2 columns of one attribute shapefile table to another. How do I copy and paste between data tables??

After you _MAPIMPORT your shapefile use _ADEDEFDATA to add fields. Here's a YouTube How-To Video:

 

After you add the fields, you can make a _JOIN and then _MAPEXPORT your modified shapefile:
