3rdElle
What are some of the things I should be checking? I am running 2016 and I get the following message: "Drawing file is not valid" Not sure what version the drawing was created in, but am I right in assuming only if it was done on 2017 would this problem happen? Thank you, Lisette
rkent
2016 will open a valid 2017 file, 2013 to 2017 all are using the 2013 database. Your file is corrupt or has the wrong file extension. For file extension make sure windows is showing the file extension and that it is a .dwg file. For a corrupt file try the recover command. Cad64
According to Autodesk, 2013 thru 2017 all use the same file format, so that should not be an issue: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCAD-dwg-file-format-for-2017-version.html If you're getting that error, chances are your file is corrupted: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCAD-File-Corruption.html Edit: Looks like rkent beat me to the punch.
