I think the OP said at one point there could even be less than 100 holes in a face.

 

We update our standards constantly; no one follows them though.

I did do some where here a random circle code and it checked via "WP" to see if it touched another object and if not drew a new one . So it could be automated. Like prior posters it could stop before 100 not find a gap so it would be wise to start at 100mm. Something about Light penetration.
