Custom Files Backup

I am about to get a service pack installed on my machine and have been asked to do the following :

Back up all custom CUI, MNR, and MNL files before applying this service pack

What exactly does this contain? I have a few custom tool bars but thats about the height of it. Will the service pack reset the look of my autocad altogether? Should I save my CUI file and if so whats the best way to do this?

Thank you in advance

go into C:\Documents and Settings\YourUsername\Application Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2008\R17.1\enu\Support

select the Acad.CUI file, and COPY the Acad.CUI to a different folder, in my case i got mine copied in My Documents.

Does that save my workspace also?

I'm not 100% sure but I think so.

Ignore previous Comment: - did some checking in help file

Import a Workspace to a Main CUI File.

Workspaces in partial CUI files are ignored by the main CUI file, even when the partial CUI file is loaded in the main CUI file. You can import a workspace to the main CUI file using the Transfer tab of the Customize User Interface editor.

It looks like that workspaces are part of the CUI, Have you got a

copy of the AutoCAD Bible for 2008?

If so got to the lower part of page 1163, if not, i'll retype here what it

says.
